Mighty Warrior
by Jo Ann Franklin 2-5-99

The darkness comes through shades of gray
The tempters snare is sprung.
The battlefield seems almost bare,
Almost certain victory is his to be won.

The mighty warrior seems barely alive
Just a small flicker is in his eyes;
But then, what's this on the battlefield?
Reinforcements begin to arrive.

The mighty warrior lifts his head
In repentance of this terrible sin,
The wounds of battle seem too much to bear,
And he falls to the ground once again.

When suddenly out on the battle field
Shines a blinding miraculous light,
And the mightiest Warrior of all times
Leads the champions into the fight.

He slowly circles the weakening foe,
And gives a great victory call;
He reaches down and picks up His own
When the mighty warrior falls.

Jesus-King of Kings

Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
the Lord mighty in battle.
Psalms 24:8

The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.
